Working for Manchester Evening News, Salford Now and Newsquest North West has allowed me to produce a range of articles fit for a variety of platforms.

During the 2018/19 season I was a sports writer covering the premiership team Sale Sharks RFC in the Manchester Evening News' printed newspaper.

My duties included interviewing key players, reflecting on performance and asking further topical question in order to gather exclusive content for the newspaper.

Salford Now is a local source of news, sport and entertainment from around Salford. As a reporter I have covered a variety of stories ranging from sport reports to human interest pieces. It is incredibly rewarding to provide members of the local community with a voice to tell their stories using a variety of multimedia. Here is selection of my favourite pieces:

I secured a one week placement on the sports desk at Newsquest North West  - one of the UK's largest regional publishers. They publish 24 print titles across the region including Bolton News and the Lancashire Telegraph.

Throughout the week I was tasked with creating high quality news stories from brief summaries submitted by members of the public. This challenged me to source additional content using techniques such as phone interviews and online research.

As well as creating content for print, Bolton News has a website that requires frequent content upload so I had to adapt my writing skills to support the requirements of these different channels.

Attending the premier league side Burnley's press conference with manager Sean Dyche was the highlight of my week. It was great to be in a professional environment and network with other like-minded journalists.
