My experience working for Badger & Combes, BBC Crimewatch, Salford Red Devils, RugbyPass and Salford Now has allowed me to refine my production and post-production skills both working independently and as part of a production team.
BADGER & COMBES
Camera Operator and Production Assistant
Badger & Combes is a digital media production company using current and emerging technologies to deliver live productions and video production services. Our clients include Sale Sharks, Lancashire Cricket Club and the Super League.
We deliver pre-match build up, live game footage and post-match analysis and interviews. Alternating between pre-recorded packages, our studio set up and the roving pitch-side cameras, we deliver high-quality and entertaining content to viewers.
I am a camera operator and production assistant for Badger & Combes. My responsibilities include rigging the stadium prior to a match day, acting as a researcher, runner, floor manager, assistant producer and general camera operator.

I produce, film and edit engaging and creative content for Sale Sharks social media channels with the aim of building the digital reach of the Sale Sharks brand and increase fan engagement online. Below is an example of a project I worked on:
I WAS SELECTED FOR A TWO WEEK INTERNSHIP SUPPORTING PRODUCTION OF THE BBC'S CRIMWEWATCH ROADSHOW. MY ROLE INCLUDED:
SCOUTING POTENTIAL FILMING LOCATIONS
- TRANSCRIBING AND LOGGING FOOTAGE
SHADOWING THE FILMING AND EDITING PROCESS
SOURCING PROPS FOR RE-ENACTMENTS
SALFORD RED DEVILS
Interviews are a major part of my role as club videographer. This is my interview with 2019's Man of Steel award winner, and Red Devil's legend Jackson Hastings.
A memorable moment was when I filmed two of the players surprising a fan - this video gained a lot of attention on social media after being shared by news outlets such as Sky Sports.
Working for the rugby league side Salford Red Devils has taken me on some great adventures - from the Magic Weekend at Anfield, to the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford. Embedded with the team, I was able to capture some great moments on film.
Reporting for Salford Now means getting involved in news days - this is when our student newsroom simulates the working environment of a professional newsroom. The objective is to gain first hand experience of live news broadcasting across a range of roles; from on-location reporting to working in the studio or gallery, and even taking part in an overnight broadcast of the election! Here is some of the content I have produced:
Salford rugby league legend, Les Bettinson and his wife both have dementia and their daughter is preparing to climb Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. You can watch the news package here.
At the height of the tension between the Kurdish and Turkish, Peydar, a Syrian living in Salford, explains what it feel like to watch the conflict from his living room. You can watch the news package here.
RUGBY PASS DOCUMENTARY
I followed ex-international and Welsh rugby legend Andy Powell as the coach of Brecon RFC as he led the club to the Welsh Plate Final. The game which Brecon won, was held at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Embedded with the team and management I filmed the story of the day. The footage I produced was used extensively by RugbyPass, the live rugby streaming and news channel in a documentary focus on Andy Powell and his life following retirement.
I have attached stills from the documentary below or you can click here to watch the full documentary.
BRECON RFC - ROAD TO THE GRAND FINAL
I also produced my own short film documenting the story of Brecon RFC's successful day at the Grand Final. The film was distributed through the club's social media channels. Attached is the trailer or you can watch the full documentary here.
